1- You already know the way....

The history of St. Mark's Church is a few years old, in two years it will be 20 years since the inauguration of St. Mark's Church. It took place on 25 April 2004.

In an editorial by D. David Martinez, Parish Priest of San Jose Obrero, dated April 2005, he said: "That is why you should not be afraid, your heart should not tremble, you know that the way is Christ, and that like those walkers of Emmaus the Lord will also accompany you"... and so it has been, we have walked in time, slowly with good days, with great satisfactions and with problems, but it is God who wants us to know that his way is full of vicissitudes but that at the end of it all is HE.

2-Some historical facts of this church.

-D. José Ruiz García (parish priest between 1997-1999), with a great vision for the future... asked the town hall for the plot of land.

-D. Juan José Castillo Cánovas (parish priest between 1999-2000) begins to make sketches of the project.

-D. Joaquín López Sánchez -Pipo- (Parish Priest between 2000-2002) makes the definitive project and places the first stone. But it is already during this year 2000 that activities begin in a container ceded by the Town Hall.

- In September 2002 a new priest arrives to the parish D. David Martinez Robles. And the inauguration of the church took place on the 25th of April 2004 with D. Manuel Ureña.

- In September 2005 D. Juan José Torreglosa Navarro is appointed. With him, a lot of work was done in all areas. The feast and the great celebrations of our patron saint make us celebrate year after year our journey as a church. The festivities of San Marcos are taking root in the neighbourhood of La Vaguada and the procession of the children is also born.

-In September 2012 D. Miguel Martinez Palazón arrives to the parish. With a church on the move he contributes to continue the work begun. The number of families who sign up their children for First Communion catechesis is considerable, around 90 children.

-In September 2014 we received a new parish priest + D. Gabriel Bastida Rodriguez. He is working hard to encourage the young people. Sadly there were few months that he could develop his work because an illness kept him in treatment since the spring of 2015 and ended his life in January 2016.

-And since September 2015, as curate of this church, our parish priest D Methode Twagiramungu, has been enthusiastically continuing the project that was started more than 20 years ago. Building the church inside and out. We are looking forward to the 20th anniversary of the construction and blessing of the church of San Marcos and who knows: in a new church? Well, we will continue to tell the story because with everyone's help it is possible and we already know the way. A path of creativity, of celebration, of joy, of singing and praying, of listening and praying, of dialogue, of respect and correction. With our focus on the Eucharist as the only nourishment to move forward. We have set our eyes on Him and we want to follow Him.
